Head of Ecosystem & Partnerships

Ecosystems + partnerships Remote-first Founding team
Marktic ecosystems customers

Distribution is a product problem

Marktic is a full-stack AI platform. We're a small founding team building something that doesn't exist yet, and the hardest part isn't the software. It's getting it in front of the right people, inside the places they already buy.

That's this job. You'd be the first person here who owns it end to end.

What you'll do

You own ecosystems and partnerships across all four of Marktic's ICPs: solopreneurs, SMBs, startups, and agencies.

01

Bring customers in

Bring customers into the product and convert them.

02

Get Marktic placed

Get Marktic placed inside the platforms our ICPs already buy.

03

Open relationships

Open commercial relationships with the large platforms we integrate with or depend on.

Community, events and PR are instruments for those three, not separate goals.

Marketplace and partnership work only pays off if you understand all four segments properly. You need a working feel for what each of them buys and why, or you'll chase placements that look good and convert nothing.

Incorporation platformStartups

An incorporation platform's perk program reaches startups.

Accounting platformSMBs

An accounting platform reaches SMBs.

Domain + hosting registrarSolopreneurs

A domain and hosting registrar reaches solopreneurs.

HubSpot integrationAgencies

A HubSpot integration serves agencies first.

What's actually yours

  • Customer acquisition through relationships and ecosystems. Recruit into beta, run discovery and onboarding, convert at launch, keep them. Across every segment, weighted by where the channels you open actually deliver. You own the number, not just the introductions.
  • Ecosystem distribution. Map and pursue every marketplace and perk program our ICPs pass through: incorporation and legal, banking, accounting, CRM, domains, hosting, cloud credits, agency tool directories. Application, negotiation, listing, and then the conversion performance of each placement. Prioritise by which ICP each program actually reaches and how well that ICP monetises for us.
  • Platform partnerships. First contact, terms, and negotiation with integration partners and with our AI vendors on credits, pricing, and partner program access. Engineering joins once there's something concrete to build.
  • Community, events, PR. You decide where Marktic shows up and what we expect back from it. Every event has a stated goal and a post-mortem. You're first contact for the press.
  • Product and ICP feedback. You're closest to the customer across all segments. A monthly written view of what each ICP needs and what's blocking adoption, argued internally. This is the input that keeps our ICP definitions honest.
Not yours: paid acquisition, brand and website, product roadmap decisions, fundraising. On fundraising, you open doors through your network and flag which VCs and events are worth our time.

Where you'll spend the first months

The mandate covers four segments, but the work has to start somewhere, and for now that's startups. Two reasons, both practical. Our beta needs volume now, and the startup ecosystem is the densest and most legible one: accelerators, incorporation and banking platforms, cloud credit programs, community Slacks, a known event calendar. The doors are already labelled.

It's also the fastest place to learn the job. A placement in a startup perk program teaches you what a placement is worth, how it converts, and what to ask for next time. You take that into the SMB, agency and solopreneur channels rather than guessing at them.

Now

Startups first

Dense, legible, and ready to teach us what ecosystem distribution is worth.

M6

At least two segments

Ecosystem channels producing pipeline beyond startups, using what the first channel taught us.

Startups first in sequence, not first in importance. By month six we expect ecosystem channels producing pipeline in at least two segments, which means you can't stay in the startup world past the point where it's still teaching you something.

You might be a good fit if…

A Network You Can Actually Call

You already know these rooms. Founders, operators, program managers, the people who run the perk lists. And you're comfortable picking up the phone in week one.

Closer, Not Connector

An introduction isn't a result. You carry it through to a signed listing, an activated account, a renewal, and you're happy being measured on that.

Systems Thinker

Which door reaches which ICP. What a placement is worth after the click. How one partnership makes the next one easier or harder. You see the board, not just the move.

!

Owns It

Pushes back when something doesn't make sense. Owns it when wrong. No corporate theatre.

Experience takes many shapes. We care more about what you've opened and closed than your job title history.

What we look for

Skills matter less than judgement about where to spend your time, but here's what we're looking for.

Essential

BD or partnership ownership An active network in at least one of our ICPs Negotiation Running discovery and onboarding calls Owning a pipeline number English

Important

Startup ecosystem fluency Marketplace, directory or perk program experience B2B SaaS Event ownership end to end Pipeline hygiene and CRM discipline Clear written reporting

Bonus

AI or LLM vendor relationships Integration partnerships at HubSpot or Microsoft scale Press contacts VC network Early-stage startup Finding Easter eggs

What "good" looks like

  • You turn a warm intro into an activated account, and you can explain why it activated
  • You can say which marketplace is worth applying to and which one is vanity, with a reason behind it
  • You walk into a platform conversation knowing what we want out of it and what we're willing to give
  • You come back from an event with something we can act on, not a photo

A measurable horizon

Every one of these carries a number, and we set those together in week one so they're yours as much as ours. The goals themselves aren't negotiable.

Month 1
An agreed number of startups into beta from your own network. Full marketplace map across all four ICPs delivered.
Month 2
An agreed number of marketplace applications submitted. First two platform conversations opened.
Month 3
First listings live. A working base of beta accounts using the product weekly, against an agreed target.
Month 6
First integration or commercial partnership signed. An agreed number of paying accounts. Ecosystem channels producing repeatable pipeline across at least two ICPs.

Direct line. Clear authority.

Direct line to the CEO, no layers. You have authority to open a conversation with any platform without asking first. Anything with a signature, money, or a public commitment comes to me before it goes out.

Weekly

Pipeline + blockers

A short written update. Enough signal to make decisions, no reporting theatre.

Monthly

ICP + product feedback

A written memo that keeps what we're building connected to what each segment actually needs.

Real ownership, real impact

The Team

Direct communication, always transparent, zero-bullshit policy. We like each other, love collaboration, and hate processes that exist for their own sake.

Compensation

Competitive and tied to your experience and location, with equity. We'll talk numbers early so nobody wastes anyone's time.

Flexible Vacation

And the best working conditions we can provide. Remote-first, with travel flexibility a few times a year. This role travels more than most of us.

Feedback & Growth

We grow when you grow. We'll be proactive with feedback, and expect you to return the favour.

Employment structure and location to be confirmed.

Own the ecosystem

We're building something we genuinely believe in, and we want people around us who feel the same. Send your CV and tell us how you think.
